The agreement lays the foundation for a collaboration to create a mutually beneficial partnership and efficient solutions to meet the growing needs of offshore wind power.<br><br><\/strong>Tahkoluoto Offshore Oy plans to construct 40 new wind turbines in an offshore wind farm off the coast of Pori. The project will have a total electricity generation capacity of up to 800 megawatts and cost approximately two billion euros. Construction will take place between 2027 and 2029. Strategically located on Finland&#8217;s west coast, the Port of Kaskinen offers excellent opportunities as a support hub for offshore wind farms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last autumn, the Port of Kaskinen signed a similar agreement with Vattenfall concerning the Korsn\u00e4s offshore wind project. Collaborating with multiple key players creates synergies, supports the port\u2019s development, expands its role in renewable energy logistics, and strengthens regional economic vitality.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;We are pleased with the memorandum of understanding with Tahkoluoto Offshore Oy. This enables long-term planning and development to provide efficient port services for offshore wind projects. We want to ensure that expertise and jobs remain in Finland as renewable energy capacity expands,&#8221;<\/em> says <strong>Patrik Hellman<\/strong>, CEO of the Port of Kaskinen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Offshore wind projects require strong infrastructure and flexible logistics solutions. The Port of Kaskinen aims to meet these needs by developing its services and capacity. The agreement also enhances the port\u2019s international competitiveness and readiness for future projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;We have previously initiated a similar collaboration with the Port of Pori. The extension of offshore wind power requires functional port solutions, and we believe that our cooperation with ports will benefit not only us but also Finland\u2019s renewable energy sector as a whole,&#8221;<\/em> states <strong>Petri Mikola<\/strong>, Project Director of the Tahkoluoto Offshore Wind Farm Extension Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement establishes a framework for streamlined operational models that support the efficient and sustainable execution of offshore wind projects. Additionally, it promotes collaboration between ports to address the challenges associated with industry growth. The port handles approximately one million tons of cargo annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Tahkoluoto Offshore Oy:<\/strong><br>Tahkoluoto Offshore Oy is responsible for the implementation of the Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm extension project. The estimated construction schedule for the extension is 2027\u20132029.
